The Valore Award is an honor, established by the Valore Uomo Association, awarded to high-profile professionals and personalities of great humanity who, in addition to excelling in their fields through ingenuity, professionalism, and dedication, have decided to make a further professional contribution to the protection of human rights. These individuals, through their research, discoveries, works, or simply through their strong commitment, courage, or determination, have become exemplars of virtue and a vehicle for positive values for the community.

Although only in its fifth year, the Valore Award already boasts a long list of individuals whose contributions to the cause have been of fundamental importance for the protection of human rights. Among them, Professor Giovanni Scambia, for his constant and tenacious commitment to caring, with profound humanity and understanding, for women and children through the promotion of research and cancer prevention; Brother Ibrahim Faltas, of the Custody of the Holy Land, for his testimony of courage and faith, and for his commitment to dialogue and conciliation between peoples; Dr. Franco Roberti, for his constant commitment to upholding the rule of law for the development of civil society; General Leonardo Tricarico, for having served, defended, and honored his homeland, helping to ensure the advancement of the entire country in freedom and security; Dr. Cristiana Turchetti, for her commitment to strengthening the administrative capacity of national and regional public administrations in the management and implementation of European policies; Antonio Giordano, an Italian academic, oncologist, pathologist, geneticist, and researcher, is Director of the Sbarro Institute for Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine in Philadelphia. He is responsible for the research proving the effectiveness of a specific gene in reducing tumor cell growth.

Also receiving the prestigious award was Massimiliano Raponi, Medical Director of Bambino Gesù, who, in addition to his excellent work at the pediatric hospital, is always committed to doing everything possible to alleviate the pain and logistical discomfort of the mothers and fathers of young patients who often spend months away from home so as to never leave their little ones alone.

Among the distinguished award recipients are Professor Giuseppe Nisticò, honored for his role as Commissioner of the European Brain Research Institute (EBRI – Fondazione “Rita Levi-Montalcini”), Carla Fracci, and journalists such as Maurizio Costanzo, whose merits and achievements are superfluous to list, as well as another awardee, General CA Sabino Cavaliere, who has reached the highest rank in the glorious Carabinieri institution, and Professor Michele Gulizia, who has always been committed to the prevention and protection of our most important organ through the Per il Tuo Cuore Foundation, of which he is President.

For the Third Edition, our Association has decided to dedicate the Award to the Genius of Leonardo da Vinci and his undisputed contribution to Science, Progress, and Freedom, and to confer the recognition to individuals who have distinguished themselves in these fields.
